This is the first of such mobile telephone and internet service provider in that part of the country, according to the Paramount Chief of Moyamba, Foday Momoh Gulama. Giving a brief background of QCELL’s arrival in Sierra Leone and the reasons for opening this new branch in Moyamba District, the Head of Marketing and Product Lead, Edward Nelson Pratt reiterated that QCELL is currently expanding its network to reach the four corners of Sierra Leone.
He lamented that it is unfortunate that Moyamba District has been behind in terms of mobile phone and internet connectivity over the years; and that it is precisely because QCELL is seeking to uplift the lives of the residents in this part of the country, is one of the main reasons the company decided to open a Customer Care Shop situated at No.1 Sawaneh Street in Moyamba which subscribers can go to get their QCELL SIM cards free of cost as long as they provide an authentic ID. He mentioned that already, QCELL has expanded its services to Shegwema, Daru, Boidu, Sulaima, Gbalamuya, Bumbuna, Pujehun, Pendembu and a host of other areas, “thus making QCELL the first mobile phone company to capture and erect masts in most parts of Sierra Leone within twenty four months of being in operation,” Mr. Pratt noted.
He thanked the Paramount Chief, the Local Unit Commander CSO Kruschev Kargbo, Chairlady Haja Mamy Vanja and a host of other authorities and the residents of Moyamba for embracing the developmental efforts brought to them by QCELL.
Also speaking at the auspicious event was the Paramount chief of Moyamba, Foday Momoh Gulama. He commended QCELL management for realizing the fact that Moyamba has been neglected in terms of mobile phone and internet connectivity which is a cause for underdevelopment in the district. He maintained that with the arrival of QCELL to Moyamba, he is certain that much more development would come to the district, and urged QCELL not to relent in promoting development in other sectors of the district.
Local Unit Commander of Moyamba, CSO Kruschev Kargbo reassured QCELL of security at all times, adding that the presence of the company has added to the development efforts residents are looking forward to. Delivering the vote of thanks was Matti Ngana. Speaking some of her words in the local Mende dialect, she thanked the Paramount Chief and the people of Moyamba District for embracing QCELL, adding that the company will continue to do what it could to make their lives better.
